Cosmetic Foot Surgery
What is cosmetic foot surgery?
Your feet are designed to propel you through the world, supporting the weight of your entire body as they do so. So when you bring your aesthetic concerns to Dr. Menna and Dr. Pace, they will have two goals in mind: making your feet look good while at the same time making sure they function well.
The good news is, in many cases, your cosmetic goals can be achieved without interfering with the functioning of your feet. Dr. Menna and Dr. Pace know that there are lots of footwear choices, especially with women. So if you’re a woman, and you want to show off your feet in all the latest styles, they will work with you to make sure your feet look good and work great at the same time.
What can cosmetic foot surgery correct?
Dr. Pace and Dr. Menna offer a number of foot surgery options that tackle cosmetic concerns, including:
- Altering the length of abnormally long or short toes
- Making wide feet narrower
- Correcting hammertoes
- Removing bunions
Many of these procedures can also improve the function of your feet and relieve discomfort.
What can I expect during and after my cosmetic foot surgery?
In most cases, Dr. Menna and Dr. Pace perform cosmetic foot surgery on an outpatient basis, which means you can go home afterward. If your procedure isn’t too extensive, you will be given a local anesthetic. If your procedure is more involved, you will be given a general anesthetic.
Following surgery, you should allow time for your feet to heal properly, which may mean staying off your feet or wearing surgical footwear if you’re allowed to bear weight. You should follow your doctor’s instructions to the letter to make sure your feet come out of the other end not only looking better, but ready for their normal workload.
